C³M, founded at the end of the year 2013, integrates the research efforts of the ERCIS network in the domain of crisis management and humanitarian logistics.
Within the context of supporting the effectiveness of logistics to humanitarian operations, the activities of C³M primarily aim at improving the modelling, analysis, simulation and decision support of humanitarian logistics processes as well as the evaluation and design of appropriate information systems.
Our Work
The C3M concentrates on six research topics within the field of crisis management and humanitarian logistics, starting at the visualisation of processes within humanitarian organisations up to the coordination of humanitarian supply chains in disaster relief operations.

C³M at the Innovation Forum for Civil Security 2022
The essence of the BMBF‘s innovation forum for civil security 2022 points at practitioner involvement and interdisciplinary research for increasingly simultaneous crisis scenarios . The C³M team participated actively as an associated partner of the practitioner network ForAn and as a member of the BMBF funded project BISKIT. C³M goes viral!
Mathematical models were the main driver of many countries’ counter pandemic strategy. Consequently, this year’s annual workshop of the Working Group Infectious Disease Epidemiology within the German Society for Epidemiology (DGEpi) and the German Association for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (gmds) explored the rich palette of tools and techniques used for estimating epidemics and the effectiveness of intervention strategies.
