Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week (HNPW) 2017

February 6, 2017
What is Humanitarian Networks & Partnerships Week (HNPW)?

Hosted by the Swiss Government and co-chaired by the UK’s Department of International Development (DFID) and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the HNPW provides a space for humanitarian networks and partnerships to hold their annual meetings. While these are invitation only, Wednesday 8th February is an open-door problem-solving event for experienced humanitarian responders.

This year, HNPW will take place from 6-10 February 2017 at the International Conference Centre (CIGC) in Geneva.

Who is it for?

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of the week are reserved for networks and partnerships meetings.

Wednesday the 8th February is open to all humanitarian experts, whether or not they are affiliated to a network. It is aimed at those who have been involved with humanitarian response and can bring their experience to help solve the most pressing issues facing humanitarian responders today.

Why join Humanitarian Networks & Partnerships Week 2017?

In 2017, HNPW will be more interactive than ever.

On Wednesday, 8th February, taking advantage of networks and partnerships members being in one place, we are holding interactive sessions which aim to address current humanitarian challenges. Topics include coordination, information management, importing priority humanitarian goods, getting airports up and running quickly, environmental risks, training and simulation exercises, civmil coordination, disability inclusion and many more. Check hnpw.org for details of specific sessions.  The outcomes of each session will feed into the future work of a variety of task forces and projects.

This year’s event offers participants a unique opportunity to:

  • Network with crisis preparedness & response experts and develop new partnerships;
  • Actively participate in a collaborative approach to resolving common challenges that hinder your work in the field;
  • Become an active contributor to the Leading Edge Programme, a year-round collaboration platform that enables change in crisis preparedness and response.

Join us and contribute your expertise. By working together, across organisations and networks, countries and regions, we really can make change happen!
