SUMMARY:[EURO-HOpe] Monthly "Sustainable Health and Humanitarian Operations Management" Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:We are looking forward to our upcoming webinar on Tuesday\, 12 May 2026\, from 18:00 to 19:00 TR (GMT+3)\, featuring Professor Paulo Gonçalves. \nWe would like to invite you to a webinar series that we have been organizing since last year\, which has attracted considerable interest and participation so far. The monthly Sustainable Health and Humanitarian Operations Management Webinar Series is jointly organized by faculty from three research universities in Türkiye: Koç University\, Sabancı University\, and Middle East Technical University (METU). \nThe series covers a broad range of sustainability-related topics\, including disaster management\, humanitarian operations\, healthcare systems\, and other related areas. \nYou are also welcome to join our LinkedIn group\, which now includes nearly 400 members:\nhttps://www.linkedin.com/groups/10025556/ \nProf. Gonçalves is a Professor of System Dynamics and Management at University della Svizzera Italiana (USI)\, and the Director of the Humanitarian Operations Group. He is also a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School and a former Research Affiliate at the MIT Sloan School of Management. \nHis research combines System Dynamics Simulation\, Behavioral Experiments\, and Econometrics to understand managerial decision-making in organizational and humanitarian settings. He holds both his PhD in System Dynamics and Management Science and his MSc from MIT Sloan. Prior to joining USI\, he held appointments at MIT Sloan and the University of Miami Graduate School of Business. \nIn his talk next Tuesday\, “Why Leaders Starve the Capabilities They Need Most?”\, Professor Gonçalves will explore why organizations often rely on short-term solutions while underinvesting in the capabilities required for long-term performance. The webinar builds on an article he co-authored with his PhD students on “capability frontiers\,” a forthcoming book chapter\, and ongoing research. \nWe hope to see many of you there!  \nEvent details: \nDate: Tuesday\, 12 May 2026\nTime: 18:00–19:00 TR (GMT+3) \nZoom Meeting ID: 738 847 0500 \nJoin Zoom Meeting: \nhttps://kocun.zoom.us/j/7388470500?omn=97002231612
